Here they are. The pictures from our driving lessons this weekend. We did a total of 18 hours over 3 days. I had no idea there was so much to learn. And I thought alignment was just for cars. Not so! We learned about harness types, parts, materials, fit, adjustment. Hitching singles, and pairs. Latitudinal, longitudinal, and height alignment. Different vehicle types, etc. It was amazing. We got in quite a bit of driving as well. The first evening we got to ground drive Tammy.
The next day we hitched up Ben and Jerry and drove a hay wagon.
The last day we harnessed Tammy and her teammate Linda...
And drove them in front of a forecart with harrow dragging behind.
Then that evening we helped get Tammy and the Vis-a-Vis cleaned up for a wedding. After the wedding we got to drive around town in the Vis-a-Vis. We all got to take turns driving it as well. We toured town stopping at the gas station for drinks and the post office to mail some postcards.
It was a fantastic 3 days. I feel confident that I could hitch a team (slowly maybe) and have the harness fitting and the proper alignment for both the team and the vehicle. It's a start for sure. Now to practice as much as possible.
