Top 10 finish- first race LBL

We did the barefoot run at LBL this past weekend. It was our first ride for both us and our horses. I crewed (due to being pregnant) and my hubby and our friend rode our horses. We have a 12 yr old TWH mare that placed 7th out of 26 on the Friday LD 25 miler and our 11 yr old paso/ssh placed 11th in the same race. We had so much fun and met lots of neat people. When they came in for the first vet check, Smokey the TWH immediately pulsed down and checked out. The Paso, CB, is a hot horse that is wired, it tool him about 7 minutes to get down to 64. He stays in an excited state and was 77 just at the pre-vet check in, he's can gait 15-20 mph but will not be able to pulse down timely due to his temperament. Love him anyways! Smokey got to leave the vet check 6 minutes before CB, which made him even more antsy. At the end smokey placed 7th with mostly A's, and CB in 11th. Very proud of these country horses and my hubby and our friend!

LBL is a really nice place. I use to go there a lot. Nice campgrounds and nice trails. Great time of year too. Congrats on placing.

Congratulations!! Looks like it was muddy, lol.

Wish I could have gotten out there to meet everyone, but it was not in the cards this time.
