I got my saddle today amd it has cracks from the pommal to the cantle and cracks on the kneerolls. If I oil it will it help?? I called Beval Saddery and they said if I send it to them they can fix it. But the cracks will get wrose if I don't do anything about it. So I have two oppions:
1. To sell my other saddle and use the money to get this one fixed.
2. Sell this one.

I really rather go with 1 because I think that this saddle will fit me and my horse better then my other one.

Bump.

Can you post a picture of the cracks? How bad are they? If it's just some surface cracking, you should be able to prevent further cracking by conditioning the leather thoroughly with a quality balm, like Passier LEderbalsam, Effax, or Black Rock (or your favorite). The cracks won't show when you're riding in it, will they? If the cracks are deep and you're concerned they might go through the leather, then you should probably have it repaired. That probably won't be cheap, so be sure it fits you and the hrose well before making the investment.

I heard you paid full price for it, and it's obviously in pretty bad shape. I'd be demanding my money back from the scammer who sold it to you. Yes, I know who it is, and I'm not surprised they did that to you. Once a scammer, always a scammer.
Annanoel and freia like this.

My new saddle :) She posted pictures of her new saddle here, they're not too bad but I would not have paid full price for that.

Oh. I didn't realize you paid full-price for it. Not acceptable. I would either return it or demand a partial refund due to it not being worth full-price and that you're going to have to pay to have it repaired. Those cracks go right along the seam, so there is a danger that they could tear. A seat replacement on a saddle ain't cheap.
