Clothing sizes

Question since we don't have much around here in way of me being able to try things on to see what size I need for show clothes.

I wear a 14 in pants. I got a pair of XL schooling breeches which I could almost go to a L. What numbered pant would that be? 34 or 36?

Also, for shirts, I would wear a XL or XXL depending on the cut. Would a 42 be big enough? I think that's as high of shirt size that I have seen. Besides Jeffers and Dovers, where else online would be a good place to look for "bigger" shirts?

I have a pair of 34 breeches and my hips are around a size 32(13) and my waist is around a size 15. If that's any help for you.

Not sure about the shirts. Probably the best thing to do would be to measure yourself for a shirt and go off that.

there is only one 'store' around me that sells english riding apparel and even that is a little bit of a drive. There is a popular consignment store that all my friends get stuff from so when I was looking for breeches one of the women picked me up a couple pairs of hers to try. What I noticed was each brand was a different size and fit differently. I didn't find ANY that I thought fit well enough for me to spend any money on, so one day i took the drive to the store that sells new stuff. I spent an hour trying on different brands and different sizes until I found the right one. Now that I know, I can order from a that's my suggestion to you. If there is a store within reasonable driving distance (an hour drive or so?) take the time and go there and try things on. Even if they are rediculously expensive and you don't buy from them, at least you'll know your size. Otherwise, take your best guess and order from a catalog. Worst thing that will happen is it wont fit and you'll have to send it back and exchange it for a different size
