We all have days that we feel that way, no need to be so hard on yourself. And heck, you got back on and got her over that fence - give yourself credit! :)
If you want to work on your heel depth, you can stand with the ball of your foot on a set of stairs with your heels hanging off and try and stretch those heels down as far as you can. Repeat doing this several times throughout the day and increase the amount of time you do it each time. Developing a stong leg and seat and deep heel take time, practice and patience, but eventually it will come! ;)
