Not looking pretty over the jumps? You should see how I look sometimes! I, like you, am still learning and they are not always pretty! It can be hard, too, because I lesson with way a way better rider than me! But she is nice and really helpful, so it's all good . Sometimes you get awkward striding, or a jump that's a little larger than you were anticipating.... If I had a dollar for every bad jump I've ever had I'd be rich! Lol You'll be fine ;)

^^ thanks! I think it just makes me feel so ugh when there are all these people around that have been doing it forever and look good and I just forget that I have not been doing it long and all and that they were once where I am now. Alot of mine are not pretty but I guess in the end I made it over so that's good! Lol

Keep your chin up, we've all been there but at least you got back on.
There was one time years back, I was doing a schooling show and was the only one in the low level jumping class, I think I came off 4 or 5 times but kept getting back on because of the beginners watching and I was determined to finish the course. I was embarrassed in away though because of the girls that were younger then me and have been doing it longer then I have.
Things will go better for you and I agree with the heel stretches!

I know I will have bad lessons and have not been riding that long but it makes me feel extremely discouraged. : /

On a positive note..after I fell off twice I got back up each time and made her go over the jump. It was not the prettiest but we finally made it over.
Please keep in mind *YOU HAVE NOT BEEN RIDING THAT LONG*.
I have been riding for 8 years and my heels still slip. It happens. Remind yourself that you can do anything if you put your mind to it. Tell your trainer that you would like to start working on your heels and legs.

Try working on more flat work instead of jumping..that will ALWAYS improve your legs and heels.

    I hope this helped(:

Remember that you have to have bad lessons so that you know where you can improve. I am sure that even professional riders have bad lesson days.... So if they have bad lesson days, then why can't we?
