Cool The Dressage world is heading for change...

The Chair of the FEI Dressage committee resigned today due to the President of the FEI's public down dressing of the entire committee and her call for multiple resignations.

News -> Dressage -> FEI -> 2008 -> Mariette Withages Resigns as Chair of FEI Dressage Committee

President's public letter:
News -> Dressage -> FEI-> 2008 -> FEI President Princess Haya Asks for Resignation FEI Dressage Committee

The letter above is QUITE telling! The judging at this past summer's Olympics was very disappointing. I watched the main rides and was very surprised with the end scores. Anky did NOT give a Gold Medal performance, not in the least. The Athens' Olympics wasn't much better.

Hopefully we'll see more resignations coming in and the entire sport taking a turn for the better! This over-flexed, hollow backed, tense horses with riders bouncing around like spider monkeys on their backs should NOT be winning, anything.

I've only seen a few BIG competitions and always thought that...well...the riders most of the time sucked. There's been a few good performances I've seen, but otherwise I like the smaller shows a lot better. Riders are more natural, relaxed and having fun.

Not: "AAHDIGDIGGOTTAWINAMETALO____________o-stroke-"
Well, some are. But for the most part, everyone's pretty laid back.

Like Luv's said: "over-flexed, hollow backed, tense horses"
Not worth a metal in my eyes.

Wait! I'll fix it....

FINALLY!
The only judge I know that's willing to give Queen Anky an honest score is Axel Steiner, everyone else just caters to her and gives her medals. they shouldn't even make her ride anymore, we all know she's getting gold.
And I also think that the FEI needs to crack down on Rolkur. There are other ways to train horses that don't break them down by the age of 10.
Good riddance. Lets make dressage a reputable elite sport again.

I looked up "Anky" on youtube because I had never heard of or watched her. And she does bounce around a lot and she can't keep her legs still! I didn't really notice much else because I wasn't paying too close attention, but I really don't like how judges favour certain competitors just because they have a big name or for whatever reason.

"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord. 'Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future'" ~ Jeremiah 29:11

Not to mention her horse can't even stand still in the halt but dances halfway around the arena.. *smirk*

I really hope this is the start of a change.

finally! i can never get over how olympic riders seem to be more all over the place than my 4 year old niece in the saddle. in my eyes there arent many top level riders out there that i like to watch. there are a couple but otherwise i watch just to watch the horses :)
