Some good information and photos of Rollkur, a method that Anky made popular...

A picture of Anky riding one of her horses using this method, before she entered the arena.

Some examples of Anky riding in the show arena with her horses over flexed and behind the bit, something that should NOT be rewarded...

Anky demo-ing Rollkur at a demonstration.

It's funny, she does it bad at the canter in competition and you can't hardly FIND a side shot of her cantering online, lol. Hmm... ;)

Alright I have never ridden dressage at all. I was in the saddle once, and so I don't have any knowledge, really of the spot. Except that I reconized regular head sets, to the head sets that looked like any more pressure applied to the reins and the horse's head just may break off. I just never could put a name on it. Now I can. But you would think that people would be severely penilized for Rolkuring their horses. I mean even to me, I can tell the horses hate the position. And yet everyone just sits by an allow it to happen. I mean really, do they not think that the horse is going to break down, or do they just live in la la land, and their horse is going to remain sound for decades? I vote we just put people who give dressage a bad name (or any horse sport for that matter), on their own little island. Stop the idiocity from spreading. I would love to know who started the Rolkur, so they can be the first one on the island. I mean, really, who thought that this was a good idea in the first place? Common sense to me would tell me not to do it and run for it if I saw someone doing it. That is over kill. That is why I avoid dressage competitions like the pleage. I refuse to pay to see animals being abused, and yet everyone just conviently just looks away. *Sigh* if it was me, I'd give big fat goose eggs (or in the very least very bad scores) to every move performed while the horse was being Rolkured. Oh who cares I'd be the most hated judge on the planet. Just don't Rolkur, and we don't have a problem, do, and we'll have issues. Simple as that.

Baucher, invented rollkur in the 1800s :P

They spend time building up the horse, then breaks it down with rollkur and hopes for it to stay on top fr as many seasons as possible. How often don't they change horses?

I didn't say Anky invented it, I said she made it popular.

The Rolkur looks un-natural and ridiculous.

^^^ This looks just downright absolutely rediculous. Like that horse can breathe!?! Why in the world someone keep doing that from the 1800's, come on, just makes it look like someone is holding back on the horse because they cannot control it to begin with.

Which is EXACTLY what Anky is doing. I've seen her at demos and competitions on some of those horses she rides, and she has two huge guys leading her horse in the ring for her to get on. Then she gets on and the horse LEAPS off until she can get a death grip on its face.
There's rumors of her quitting riding because the horses are really starting to scare her.
