No..... a half halt is just what is says, a half halt, you barly squeez the reins. A pully rein is wher one hand pulls up at the waist and one down at the hip.

I would tend to agree. To use any sort of pulley rein on a horse that is just rushing to a jump is not anything any trainer in my area would recommend. The use of a half halt for sure would be applied.

If the horse simply rushes it needs better training.

no, Blue just gets exited, and a regualr half halt doesn't work. It is what the horse needs, not what a trainer "recomends". Blue just runs through a half halt, and to not get her and myself killed, I need to give a slight pully rein. And sorry, but Blue is one of the best trained horses around, so I really don't think you have any room to say she needs better training.
