English Riding Tips and Pointers?!

So basically I started riding English at the end of my forth grade year but stopped abruptly at the beginning of my sixth grade year. I trained in English for about two years and was actually pretty good. I had just learned how to canter when I stopped riding.
Right now I am 14 years old and am in ninth grade. I started going back to my stable during February of this school year and have been riding Western recently. I really want to start riding English again because I love everything that comes with it like dressage and jumping.
So I have two main questions:
Is 14 too old to start learning how to ride English again?
Can someone with experience please give me some tips and/or pointers for riding English?

My one tip: get a trainer(: you wont regret it, and you will be riding correctly.

I'm 21 and just got back into riding English after 10 years.. so I definitely don't think you're too old!!

Before I started taking lessons, I watched a lot of YouTube videos to teach myself some of the terminology. The simple how-to videos really helped. I'm a visual learner, so seeing someone post on the diagonal, ask for a canter, go over a jump etc. has really helped me in my lessons.

And of course, find a good lesson stable! :)

Yeah, definitely get a trainer and you will learn things twice as fast, you will get tips on the way, she can help you with up coming comps, correct your riding and help you out with problems if your horse reacts or starts playing up.
It's honestly worth the money. Ask around first for a good coach. I had 2, the first lady charged a lot and I didn't really get far in riding, but then she moved and she gave me her friend's number which is now my coach. She charges almost $20 less than the first lady, she fixes my horse like *that* if he plays up and she won coach of the year award. So really ask around and see who you can find that's really good.

Ha ha. I am English, and didn't start riding 'till I was 30. I don't think you'll have problems with age...
