Equitation Patterns, Read for Further Info!!

Hey guys! So this thread will be quick. I have an 8 y/o QH who I show in hunters and very low level dressage and events. If you need any more info please ask below. I made it to districts in EQ (yay!) but I would like to know how to improve my horse/ me in the class. We arent usually the perfect smooth pattern kind of people and how could I fix that? Such as our circles arent always perfect, he backs ugly ect. And any tips on improving my score/placing in general would be gladly appreciated!!! Hope this all made sense I feel like it didnt

Practice, practice, practice! Really work on your back-ups and circles. Look up eq patterns online.

There's many websites that have eq. Patterns posted, read up on those and go to the usef website and it has some of them posted there as well. Practice practice practice ! Lol

My advice on circles is plan it out in quarters, so you don't try to do the whole thing you split it up and it becomes a lot smoother

One more thing, don't watch everyone else do their patterns.. and if possible, volunteer to go first. I'm notorious for messing up my patterns, but now, I volunteer to go first or I simply avoid watching the others. It's easier to remember them under saddle.. but those showmanship patterns get me every time.

And when you're on your own, just practice a lot of transitions.
