    You arent losing your mind ! You obviously don't see a lot of people trotting because they wouldnt make time, but you could trot the whole course if you wanted to...

    Haha ok. I watched the same race on a helmet can and in person and they trooped up a hill and I was like, what the heck?!! I thought it was really strange haha

    I've trotted up and down some reallyyyy steep hills XC, as well as through bad footing, and on narrow, twisty tracks in wooded sections of some courses, where you sometimes have to beware of rabbit holes if you don't stick right to the track! I also tend to trot rather than canter through water - when the water is reasonably deep, my horse just moves easier through it in trot. I also trotted my old horse into staircases, as he tended to rocket launch off the first step if I approached a three step staircase in canter... #hairraisingxc lol
