Feel like I improve with....

Leaps and bounds after every lesson!!!

Hey everyone!
As some of you already know it has been many many years since I rode on a regular basis. Over the last few months I have started to take lessons more often. And...now that I am on a break from college I have been taking 3-4 lessons a week.
My instructor is great. She uses a headset for her lessons. I have one on and she also has one, I love using this set up because it is like having her right on my shoulder explaining things and letting me know when I am doing a good job!

So, in the last few weeks I feel as if I make large improvements from one ride to the next! It is the greatest feeling!
It is so cool to have a lesson and your instructor tell you you need to work on "insert issue here" and then the next lesson have her tell you that she can see such an improvement that the prior issue is as if it never existed.
Since I am currently not riding my gelding due to his joint issues and my new mare is away at a trainers, I am only able to ride in a lesson. This means I do not get an opportunity to practice between lessons.
I am really excited and it is such a treat to feel as tho I am gaining confidence back.
One of these days I will be able to have someone take a video of me or pics, so I can post them.
I am so excited about how much progress I have been making that I just had to share.
Some of the things that I started out with were.. when posting I would sort of round my shoulders inward, looking down instead of forward, floppy elbows, and some others.
Most of the issues have either gone away, or are only present some of the time.
Funny, as soon as one is improved ...my instructor will find another for me to work on....lol then I think about it constantly until the next lesson.
This week I have 4 lessons in a row so we shall see how I do with those...
Thanks for reading!

That's awesome! I'm eager to get back into lessons as well. I agree the headset setup is amazing! Much more efficient and effective than yelling or bullhorning.

Hey no doubt about the head set! lol
Gosh I can remember getteing yelled at for days....lol

In an indoor arena, with a bunch of stalls surrounding it, it can get quite noisy. Not to mention when there is many people riding in the arena...
Love how effective it is.
Had another great lesson yesterday.
I have been taking video of them and using them to learn from. Video is a great tool as well.
I bring it right home load it on the computer and then watch and listen to the instuctor.
Haha...we think I ride horses in my sleep...lol Since I am not riding at the moment other than in my lessons.
I am really working hard to get as much riding in before my mare comes home from 30-90 days of training...
