Helmet

What helmet do you use and what do you recommend? Im in the market for a new helmet, so either show or for schooling. I have a lot of hair, so it's tricky to fit it all in my current schooling helmet. I'd like one with a low profile and one with good coverage and protection. And hopefully under 200$, the cheaper the better.
For showing I could go with a velvet cover over, so that wont be the deal breaker.
Any suggestions?

The best helmet is the helmet that fits you properly. It doesn't matter what helmet any of us suggests, you need to try them on and make sure they fit your head shape the best.

Really, your hair shouldn't be all up under your helmet, because that can effect how the helmet fits, and reduce the safety benefits of wearing one.

^This. I've also been told the same. If your criteria is that your hair must fit under you'll probably buy one that is too large and therefore negates the purpose of the helmet. Can't you just put your hair into a nice, tidy bun at the nape of your neck?

I guess you didn't ask for a safety lesson though. Some other brands to look at might be IRH, Troxel, Tipperary, and Charles Owen. Those are just a few names that I recognize off the top of my head.

I have the Ovation Sync helmet with carbon fiber.
I got it about a month ago and so far i really like it!
It has a low profile, its lightweight, its adjustable, and i really like the look of it. I would definitely look into Ovations unless you want something fancier for shows and stuff:D

I really like my Tipperary Sport. Low profile, lightweight and more than acceptable in the small time rings that I putter in.

It is really getting old, though... Time to replace it. Was checking out a similar low-profile Troxel, brown in colour. Have yet to try the fit, though.

The Tipperary fit a number of my friends very well. There were five of us riding in them together at one point, lol.
