Hhhhmmm Lesson ideas??

I have been giving my 10yr old Niece riding lessons on my boy Dartanion and she is doing great. Here are some lessons we have done to work on various areas of riding:
Walking and Trotting figure 8's : Good for working on asking a horse to turn with her seat and not just pulling on his face and GREAT for working on switching diagonals hehe.
Walking and Trotting without irons: She actually did great, a little unbalanced at the trot but we just did sitting and I allowed her to 'hang on' to the saddle till she was comfotable and now she does it REALLY well.
Walking and trotting without reins: I think this lesson showd her how much she was hanging on D's face and it wasn't just Aunty being crazy lol. It also showed me that she was still fairly unbalanced, as the lesson went on we did some reaching for his ears and tail, touching toes, and having our arms out and posting (actually didn't post too badly lol!)
Walking and Trotting patterns: I think good for memorizing patterns at shows and I am hoping this is getting her to think for herself so I don't have to tell her 'heels down' 'ok sit up and lean back a little and tell him whoa' etc. Plus it's more fun that just going around in circles.
Walking and Trotting 'trail' patterns: We will open gates walk over poles, carry a bucket from one barrel to another one and weave inbetween cones. Once again good for memory plus opening the gate and what not helps with balance and make her use her seat more since one hand is busy hehe.
Eq Lessons: Where we will do figure 8's a little pattern work and then some just working on transitions from walk to halt to trot to backing etc etc.

So here is my question?? Anyone have some new lesson ideas? We've also been on two or three trail rides and I try to keep each lesson interesting, She doesn't seem to get bored with anyone we do and I love working on her balance incase something happens in the ring where he trips or maybe hallows out his back I want her to be able to ride through it.
Thnx everyone!

P.s. She has been riding for about 7 or 8 months so still a beginner and she has cantered a total of 4ish times and I am not going to presue it much more till her balance is better.

How about trotting over some poles and working on the 2 point? I nno she's still trotting but it helps in the future. When she gets more balance try posting with no sturrips! It rly builds muscle strength....

Serpentines-helps with switching diagonal, staying balanced through the turns and going straight

Also pole work and two pointing as said above!

I know that when I was still learning...my instructor did a few lessons on the lunge. She would lunge the horse around in a circle and I wouldn't have to worry about stearing. I could just work on my seat and keeping my body straight, heels down, etc.

Yep we've done a couple of those. I think it's also helping her balance around corners and what not.

I teach beginner lessons at my barn, and the kids lovvee doing little patterns/obstacle courses. Like, some weaving through cones, trotting over poles, stopping between poles, backing up over poles, etc etc. The possibilities are endless if you have the creativity- and equiptment.

Mum is an insructor and she makes people do 20metre circles then slowly make the circle smaller then make it bigger again. It helps with the balance so her shoulder wont fall in. You could also give her poles to go over. Good luck with her!!!
