Horse Rushes Flying Lead Change

I have been working with my horse on flying lead changes and now whenever he thinks I am about to ask him (whether over a pole, simple change, etc.), he begins to rush, practically gallop, and stops listening (often times not even swapping). I always ask with my seat and a change of rein and leg. How can I fix this?

If he thinks you are going to ask for a change, don't do it, circle instead. Circle as many times as it takes. Only ask for the change when your horse is calm and listening to you.
