In House Show!

On September 6th, my barn is hosting an "in house show." Basically it's a fun show where you don't have to "dress up" and your horse doesn't have to be clean.

Anyways, I signed up for it, and I'm doing the classes w/t/c equitation, w/t/c command (you have 4 seconds to do the command that the judge asks you to do, if you don't do it you're out!), dollar bareback, and fun over fences (an 18"-2' jumping course).

I'm super excited because last time we did an in house show, we got two blue ribbons!

Any tips for dollar bareback? I've never done it before...

Tip for dollar bareback is hold on tight.

Haha, thanks. The dollar goes in between your knee and the horse? Or is it your thigh and the horse?

I've played in between your thigh, but if you are too relax it can slip down.

Well, it's good that I'm not a relaxed bareback rider I guess. Even though my horse is like a giant sofa. Lol.

I love the dollar bareback! We call it ride-a-buck! SOOO much fun!!! It's placed between your thigh and the horse. I would suggest refining cues. For instance, I was riding my friends horse in ride-a-buck, and I used to lease him so I know how he works. I cued him to canter, and he wouldn't canter! I was doing everything that I know worked with him! Next thing I know, the dollar is gone :( Needless to say, after the class I went into the warm up ring and made that horse canter dang it! Haha Make sure that your horse knows that when you say to do something, they DO it!
