How to fit gullet size?

How do I know what size gullet my horse needs?

I am hopefully buying a Wintec saddle with an interchangeable gullet sometime this week, and am going to buy a new gullet because I have a feeling the one that comes with it will be too wide (he's built narrow with high withers).

Is there a way to measure, or will I just have to buy a couple sizes and play around with them?

.

If you buy a New Wintec, they should have all 5 gullets in the package.

The standard Gullet in a Wintec Saddle is the Medium.

If you purchase used, ask what size gullet they are sending you the saddle with.

I was considering buying used on ebay because there are some good deals, but I wouldn't be able to return it if it didn't work out.

Look at this one for example. It says it features the gullet system, but only includes the Medium. I haven't found any that include the whole set of gullets :\

.

The easy change gullet system used to mean they included all 5 plates and the medium was installed, might want to call just to be sure, but for 12 or 13 years they always used to include all the plates in the easy change system, of course they may have changed that to keep cost down

I'm guessing they're selling them all separately now...I've checked multiple sites and read reviews and so far it doesn't look like they're included :(

Any tips on guesstimating the gullet size?

The Medium Template is very close to Wintec's Medium, the Wide Template is very close to Wintec's Wide
