How NOT to win a hunt seat class...

I was going through my pictures and vidoes from my spring shows when this memory came up:

How Not to win a Hunt seat class...
april jump.jpg

This was April's second show this year (mid May) and second time ever showing English. She was a bit frisky and the class had 21 riders- While in the canter something bothered her and she jumped like jumping an invisible fence (it is the screen shot of the video...sorry for the quality and size)

Thankfully no one was right by us at the time and I was able to go into the middle of the arena to ask for the canter again and get our "thoughts" collected. Needless to say we didn't place that day

I have gone to a few more shows and she has not done anything like this again... But did find that I may have a hunter hack prospect on my hands...lol

Nice pic, you rode it well. LOL.

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/

Wow, could you post the video? I'd like to see that in action. That would have scared the crap out of me. I'd be like "What the ___ are you doing!?!" haha. Kudos!

how not to win a hunt seat class? Simply run over the judge.

I do agree it would not win you a blue ribbon, but it perhaps could win you the 'special' award.

Very gorgeous jump though!

...he's so kissable, huggable, loveable, unbelievable...

Here is the link to the Video...

It didnt really scare me too much- Im kinnda used to her scattered brain (which has thankfully become MUCH better over the last couple of months). It was a cool day and too many horses for her. She hadn't been out much.

I do what ever I can to avoid running a judge over...lol

Haha, at least you stayed on. It sucks falling off at shows.

It is not enough for a man to know how to ride; he must know how to fall.

I remember the judge called me to the center and made me dismount once... embarrassing!
