Hi, me again.

I would really appreciate some advice from someone who has experience in a traditional hunt club, you know with the hounds and jumping the wire fences  I would love to give hunting a go and there are a couple of local hunts in my area but i really dont know where to start in regards to appropriate attire/manners/horse fitness etc. Is it acceptable to attend alone without a parent(Im nearly 16)? I am reasonably competant and feel i would keep up just fine, and i would go the first few times on my older pony, and then take my crazy horse who hopefully will jump full wire.
Could someone just give me the rundown on what actually happens at a meet?
I hope someone knows what im talking about and i dont sound totally crazy..

my local one does accept juniors. they are very welcoming to new members so try contacting your local club. not sure they jump wire fences, i've seen logs being jumped mostly. there is usually at least 2 fields, a really fast one that jump everything and stays with the hounds and another that walk/trots with optional jumps. foxhunting is like a group trail ride with dogs.

Great to hear more people getting into hunting!! Once your over 16 over here, and your a fairly competent rider, you can hunt without a guardian. Most hunts here look after their riders pretty well anyway! Just be aware that rules change from hunt club to hunt club. As for the jumping aspect, be prepared for anything. If the hounds are hunting, the field normally follows through whatever terrain the hounds hunt through. So expect logs, drains, banks, wire and gates! Hope this helps :)
