Talking I looked pretty dang good

I had a show today. I got a first, second, fourth, and a sixth in the flat equation class ( My horse would'nt trot, she paced. I think it was nerves). I felt like a did horrible! But, of course, my mom said I did really good. I was watching the video of my classes, and it turns out I looked really good! Has anyone else ever had this happen?

First of all, congrats! :) You did great, don't keep second guessing yourself. I used to struggle at horse shows because I would watch others getting the blue ribbons; the key is to treat it like a learning experience, enjoy it, and let it roll off your back.

Also, I've had classes that must have been judged by someone on drugs xD I mean, there's been times that me or my friends have gotten places that were totally wrong--and our instructors and other people came up to us and told us that there must be favouritism going on because we did way differently than we were judged o_O It depends on the judge. Don't let it get to you ;)

Congrats on doing so well!

I can't say it's ever happened to me in a show but I have ridden some horses that were horribly rough and when I watched the video after, my first thought was "Boy, that horse sure didn't feel that smooth."

Congrats! Don't second guess yourself, as posted above, treat everything like the learning experience that it is! One thing I've learned is that you can't always win everything, but it sure is nice when you do! I've been to a show where the judge didn't even look at me. And no, that's not an exaggeration, he did NOT even look in my direction. My mom even noted that he didn't look at me. The sad thing was that my horse was on the bit, looking fantastic and so was I. Eh, it really depends on the judge!

Congratulations!

It's the opposite with me. I think I'm doing really well, but afterward I look at the video and I'm appalled.

Are you going to post the videos so we can all enjoy them?

OMG! Some horses make me work so hard and I feel like we're a mess! But when I look at the photos/videos, we're absolutely pretty & you can't even see my cues/work!

Its crazy, but like someone else said, it's better this way than seeming pretty but looking ugly!
