Wow, bummer of an experience for both of you. If it helps, apparently while horses do remember people who have mistreated them, they do not lump all humans together. Your horse will not blame you for something the trainer did. If anything, you saved him from the bad man.

You just have to see your distance...you don't have to like it.

Jeez... look at his feet in those stirrups... Look at his hands... Poor horse. I would have smacked him in the face with that whip!

100% Anti-Slaughter and PROUD of it!

Sorry you & your horse had to go through that. You absolutely did the right thing asking him to leave.

Life is like a camera. Focus on what's important, Capture the good times, Develop from the negatives and if things don't work out, Take another shot.

I am really PROUD of you!!!! Goopd on you for kicking his butt off the property! He has NO right to treat him like that!

You did the right thing and you got good instincts when it comes to this horse.
Take the standing martingale off, gag bit and just go out and hack him, show him a good time to make him trust you still.

I don't call him a trainer and I would hate to think what your friends horse went through getting broken it

These look like video stills - do you have video of the ride?
My concern first lies with the equipment being used in the first place, and secondly that this "trainer" doesn't have great balance or posture...

I'm so sorry this happened. Even the horses watching can't believe what is going on. Imagine what he does when no one is around?
I wonder if your friend was there for his/her's horse's training?

Oh WOW all I can say is you controlled yourself alot better than I would of. He needs the whip and spurs used on him then his mouth jerked around when he does not move. I feel bad for anyones horse that this man touches.

It seems a bit odd to me that this "trainer" would let someone take photos/video of them riding in such a manner and with the whip held so. Most "trainers" that do things rough don't want photographic evidence.

Perhaps this is one of those "trainer" that think they are right and there is nothing wrong with the way they are doing things.
