So far with shows, there have only been 2 this season. I've helped out with both instead of riding in them. After watching, I find that I'd rather do jumpers than hunter jumpers. I haven't been doing English for too long, I've had 7 lessons, but I've jumped 2'3 and I've been riding for 6 years. Would I have to start off with hunter jumpers? I know that jumpers is harder but I find it more interesting for some reason.
I was talking to a friend who rides at my barn and I asked if I would be able to do jumpers. She said it depends on what the trainer thinks, and I totally understand that. She also said I should start out with hunters. Now don't get me wrong, I don't see anything wrong with hunters, I just find jumpers more appealing. So would I be able to do it? I don't think I'd need my own horse, one person at my barn used another person's horse for jumpers. So what should I do? Should I ask my trainer? If so, what should I say? Thanks!
