I'm joining my colleges polo team!

I was hoping to get some advice, opinions, good words, etc from anyone on this forum who's played polo before!

I couldn't join the intercollegiate riding team because it is way too expensive and time demanding within my already tight schedule. Polo however, is less expensive and a bit more lenient, and it's something fun and exciting I've never done!

I don't know what to expect though, I've seen the sport, I've read descriptions etc, from the sounds of it the horses can be so responsive that I'm going to feel like I'm on a rocket or something, I'm so used to my lazy, kick his butt to make him move horse.
As a member of the team I'll be taking lessons a few times a week, so I won't be hopping on and chasing a ball in a match immediately, thank god!

Has anyone done polo before? I'm really excited! I want to hear all of your input
