Jumping out of the Arena :)

Just a hint....that's probably not the best way to sell a horse. ;)

Agree, that is not a film I would use to market her. Most people want their horses to actually stay IN the arena, and would not like to see that behavior encouraged.

Saw that pic of Cruise on FB last week.....he is such a cutie.

I've actually seen quite a few shows where they include a spot where the horse is supposed to jump out of the arena and many seasoned jumpers refuse. It can really make or break your placing if your horse won't jump anything you ask of it if that is it's job.

Cute video, but yes agree with above posters. Not a habit you want a horse to get into, encouraging them to jump out of arenas will end in elimination if you take it into an event within an arena!

I have ridden at extremely fancy barns where jumps were built into the arena railings. You jumped out of the ring and finished over jumps in the field as part of an outdoor course. There were a couple of nice jumps on the arena railing.

Yea, they're jumps that are apart of a course. It's not a bad behavior or a habit that is being encouraged. She's merely jumping what I tell her to.

Guess the course is fairly new.....that was just an open patch of grass.....with the trailers parked out by the road. As I recall, pretty much the entire arena rail is lower than the norm on that side, which may be tempting to a horse looking to get out of work....which does happen. Allison-agree-I have too, but most of those have an extra rail you can put up if you want, or take down.....

And as for lil mr cruise-he seems to be running off less lately..... Groundhogs must be getting ready for winter.
