Awesome! I love jumping in and out of the arena I used to do that at my old farm.

I disagree with it becoming a habit and horses just jumping out of the arena to get out of work. Jumping out of the arena IS work. If your horse just jumps out of the arena just to be a brat, then that horse needs some more training and shouldn't be jumping things like in the first place.

I doubt that a horse will take an opportunity to jump out of an arena while being ridden just because a rider enjoys using it as an obsticle. It looks like an xc fence to me, and Nelson has never jumped out of an arena on his own free will. We have jumped in and out of arenas....and I've seen many others do the same thing - no horse as of yet, has decided to jump out of the ring for any reason unless asked by their rider.

Never seen it. Never heard of it - you have me chuckling. I think that's a lot of assuming.

ETA: If that shows anything, it is that the horse is bold and enjoys his job. Willing to jump ANYTHING his owner points him at. To me, that is a big selling point. If I'm looking for another Eventer, that is very important to me.
