My first show, a KHJA (Kansas Hunter Jumper Association) Show, is coming up at the end of October, and I am so excited! It is an overnight show for two days, and the last one of the season. I will most likely be competing in the Beginner Rider Hunter 18", and most likely an equestrian class. I was wondering, what is it like going to a show like this? I have been to a little KSU Horsemanship show and watched that, but I know this is going to be a lot different. I am not expecting to win first place, but It's about having fun right? Anyways, I was wondering what I need to wear, and how much would all the clothes cost? I know how much the showing fees are for each class, but nothing about the clothes. And just wondering, would they have any costume shows because its October? I have seen them before and they look really cool! The ones where people and horse dress up and jump fences. Would there be anything there like that? Also, I am afraid of crowds of people watching me, waiting for a specific thing to happen. Is there a way I could totally get over that before the show??
