Let's Guess-timate a Bit Here.

I have a few questions about me and my horse, Jerry.

1. What do you think his breed is?

2. How many hands do you think he is? (I'm 5'7 if you want to base it off of my height).

3. Am I too big for him (height-wise or weight-wise)? (I weigh about 115)

4. Critique my position please! (P.S.- these pictures are 2 months old. I have fixed the arm problem!)

Please look at these pictures and try to answer these questions. Sorry, I know it's a long shot to get his breed and height, but I'd like to know what people think.

P.S.- In the picture where we are cantering, I think I might be leaning and putting my weight in my inside stirrup. That's why it might look like I'm a bit unbalanced. I'm working on fixing that. :)

1. He definately has some arab in him...maybe even some pony, bc he has some ponylike charecteristics.

2. Around 14.2-15 hh

3. I think you are fine. If you are less than 20% of the horses weight, he can carry you. And I'm sure you are within that limit.

4. Your postion looks good. You are looking up, you're sitting straight, and your hands are in a good postion.

Thanks! I've always thought that he had some Arab in him. On his coggins we have it as "Arab Cross".

I'll try to get some pictures of me standing next to him so that you can see my height compared to his a bit better.

He looks like he's got some draft in him...
and he is a good size for you, I'll say he's about 15.3 - 16 hands (that's just a total shot in the dark guess) but you look like a good team. He's a very pretty horse.

If you're 5'7" my guess would be somewhere between 15-16hh. You're not too big for him, I rode a 14.3hh arab when I was like 5'6"-5'7" and I was fine.

^^^^^ agreed. Quarab or ArabXDraft.

You look pretty good height-wise on him.

Your heels could/should be down more
and, depending on whether you show or jump or not, you might want to try shortening your stirrups one hole... just a suggestion...
