I am looking at buying this saddle

English Saddles : Derby Top Trainer Jump Horse Saddles : Tack Wholesale.com

I am totally IN LOVE with it.
I have an english saddle with an 7" gullet right now. Sits perfect on her but when I tighten the girth and sit in the seat the gullet sits on her spine. I believe with any saddle that is bad. So I was wondering what is considered a medium sized gullet? I want her to have movement in her shoulders without being constricted. She seemed fine in the 7" gullet saddle I have now but in the long end I don't want her getting sore. So please if someone can help me that would be great.

It is really bad when the saddle sits on the horses withers it could make them saddle sore and cause them to move when being tacked up or even rearing. If you know anyone that has a 5'' gullet and you can try it out I would go with that.

That's a pretty crappy-made saddle if it's new for under $500. If you ever need to re-sell it, you probably will get enough for a cup of coffee, and it may not do well if Gidget has a history of sore backs. Those Indian made saddles can fit WEIRD.

Try looking at a used, high quality saddle, or a wintec.

You'll probably want to find a medium wide or normal. It depends on the maker, too. The Crosby 'wide' I tried on Razz was better fitting than the 'wide' Stubben.
