New tall boots: do they fit or not??

I just got a pair of Ariat Heritage tall boots on sale for a great price! They're an 8-full and they fit wonderfully. The only issue is that the back part of the book that's behind me knee is jabbing me in the leg quite a bit when I walk. I haven't ridden in them yet and I know they will shrink down about a 1/4 to 1/2 inch, but I just want to make sure they are okay before I wear them out. It's been awhile since I've bought new tall boots and I can't remember if this discomfort is because they are too tall at the back of my leg or because they aren't broken in yet?

I HAVE THOSE TOO! But I think they are the Heritage II. I have the same issue. They do fall, so after breaking them in they should be fine... however if you have my problem, you might be stuck with the jabbing. I have big feet and short legs and when I bought my boots I thought they would drop enough... apparently not. They could probably fall some more if I kept breaking them in but I don't want to force it too much and am hoping I will grow a bit before spring.

This may sound strange, but you might want to call and email the company. Believe it or not many times if the product won't perform as they say (phone-get name) and you have it in writing (email) even wearing them to shrink them shouldnt matter. Be sure and ask to the point questions reagarding this (having to wear to break in to make shrink-if not unreturnable). Many times they will make an exception bc you have it in writing. ASK them first. I have heard of this happeneing, and they made good on it; gave her a new pair made to order and fit!! Just a thought---Good Luck!!

If it's only a bit of jabbing, that's normal, as the boots will drop with time. You should be able to look at them and feel and tell if the small drop will be enough to make them bearable or not.
