ONE DAY EVENT PICS!

Hey all!

Just wanted to let you all know how we got on at the ODE yesterday!

My mare Flo was awesome! She has only ever done one dressage test, 2 jumping classes and only played around at a small cross country centre but she acted like a complete pro!

At home, plaited up and waiting to go

The dressage judge said she was "the perfect dressage type", and absolutely loved her. She grabbed me afterwards and went through how we could improve etc and apparently she just doesnt do that!

Warming up!

The test starts....

After the dressage we were in 1st place with 36.9penalties and I believe that to be 66% but im not sure i just roughly worked it out. We then went and walked the cross country course! To my horror for a mini ODE the fences were very tricky. Some serious drops and unusual stuff which i really wasnt sure what Flo (my mare) would think of.

Quick change!

I took my mind off the xc quickly to concentrate on the show-jumping, she only had 4 faults due to gorping and knocking a pole but i really wasnt bothered by that- she did good!! I have no pics of this section as my chap forgot he had the camera. Doh! So after the show-jumping we were lying in 3rd place!

Warming up...

All done!
My chap forgot the camera during the sj-ing so affraid no pics!

We had a quick change into xc gear and went over a couple of practise logs. She wasnt very confident and so i was anticipating the worst. Anyway we ended up going round with only 1 hessitation and one refusal! She still jumped everything, with no style at all but she went over! hehe

Warming up...

Warm-up fence

Bit of support from my friend!

Start Gate!

Getting into it!

Flower bed! Very scary!

Loves water!

I am so proud of her!! And the best bit is she loaded like an angel when she is normally awful!

Thank you for looking! Sorry for all the pics! hehe

Thank you! I couldnt wait to get them on here and see what you all think! It was nerve racking as hell but i loved every minute!

Justdressageit- Thank you! Yeh i think shes a pretty nice colour too, she is passported as chocolate brown, but she is virtually black in the winter and just gets her brown points in the summer!

So so proud of her!

Congratulations! That is sooo awesome! It looks like you and Flo had a lot of fun. She's beautiful, by the way.

Wow, that's so cool! A first and a third, good for you! I hope you and your horse had a chance to relax the next day. That looks like a lot of hard work.

Yeh she has actually had the week off due to her coming into season as soon as we got home and has turned into a complete cowbag again.
She's best left alone while shes in season ive found!hehe and she comes real good once shes not so hormonal. Strange, but she is a completely different horse when shes not, and anyway it gives me time to play with my youngster while she chills out. hehe

As for me I was out to work the next day....absolutely exhausted but im good now and looking forward to the next one on the 8th June! Arh! hehe
