Breeches are sized the same way as jeans are here. Brands are going to fit differently from one another just as jeans. The only big thing to watch for is the length which will be indicated by a R or L (reg or long). Just go to your local store and try on several different brands and sizes to see which ones you like best.....just as you would for jean shopping.

Barrel, breeches are sized differently than regular pants, and black breeches are always smaller than lighter colored breeches, even in the same size. Don't know why, but I've always found that to be the case.

If you wear a size 12 in jeans, you're going to want a 32 in breeches. They come in regular and tall. A size 10 is a 30, a size 14 is a 34, etc.

If you bounce around in sizes, I'd recommend getting the next size up from what you normally wear, and don't buy black.

If you normally buy your pants by waist size then you will buy your breeches the same size as your normal pants.

I would think a 26 would be fine for you.
