Nah, thin bands should do the job. Haha, you're lucky with people thinking you're in high school - when I was fifteen I had people asking me how my uni courses were going!

I'd use short socks (still long enough to cover the bottom of breeches) with the wide rubber up to go tight around the leg. That's what I put on when I use just usual pants for riding (which are usually much worth than breeches to stay in place).

I got the clips..they were too long :(...3 bucks is all they cost and then I got my brown half chaps....they fit perfect!

I used to ride in joddies and short boots. They had little buttons on them because they were intended for short boots, so I used the ones with buttons. I bought a whole bunch of different sizes to see what fit best, then bought a whole bunch of those in clip form when the pants with buttons started being too small. Trial and error. Or just switch to tall boots, or short boots with half chaps.
