Survived my first scare!

Well, it's been about 4 months since I've been riding and I finally had my first scary moment.

We had a clinic today at the barn and I was riding with another fairly new rider in the arena. I was in a corner of the arena and my horse was facing the other way when the other rider started coming close towards us from behind. The horse I was riding was being cranky and decided to start bucking & kicking at the other horse (with both hind legs). I was not expecting it at all BUT I stayed on and my feet didn't even come out of the stirrups.

I must say it was a little scary at the time, but also kind of fun haha.

Some times the anticipation to the "scary" thing is worse then when the scary thing happens. When my student fall I ask them if they thought it was going to be scary-er, 9 times out of 10 they say its not as scary as they thought falling would be.

Ps, I like the username.. I'm a future RN too! ;)

It's true, I think the anticipation was way worse!

Oh cool another RN! Are you in an associate or bachelor program? Have you done any clinicals yet?

Bachelor program, its the way to go. I'm retaking this semester, unfortunately. The med/surg professor I took fails 1/2 of her class, apparently its true. 17 of 40 people in my class are retaking the class. That makes my 3rd semester of clinical. You?
