tack color questions. need opinions fast please.

Ok. So i'm going english (as some may know from other posts) and im pretty sure on everything im getting. The last thing to decide is color. I am getting a wintec and just always assumed I would get black, but I was told to get brown so I don't waste money. I don't have an intrest in show right now, but I think I will be participating in a home show in may. (hunter/jumper) honestly I like the way black on the wintec looks better. So I guess things I need to know are wintecs even acceptable in low level shows? (i'm in texas) if they are used in shows, is the 500 all purpose ok for either dressage or jumping? I havent been taking lessons long, but I don't think dressage fits my personality. Much more interested in hunt/jump although I know hardly anything about the shows. So should I get brown? Another possibility is that wintec arent great in shows and I will just buy the color I want and use it for everyday use. If I decide next year I want to do shows I can buy a used stubben or maybe bates. (this may be what i'm leaning towards). And I may do this anyways IF a wintec all purpose is ok in dressage. That way I have a black and brown saddle. Although I have a feeling a all-purpose in dressage just wont work. So I hope you guys are able to decifer the msg. Lol. Please all opinions welcome. Im going to the tack store tomorrow and I need to make a decision fast. So black or brown.

I think, at the lower levels in any discipline, just get what you like best. If you like the black, get it. I'm sure Wintecs are fine at the lower levels. They are fine in eventing even at the rated shows.

For hunter classes you really should have brown tack if you plan to show in shows beyond the schooling level and close contact saddles are most appropriate however sometimes you see all purposes or event saddles. If you only plan to enter jumping classes color does not matter but I would still go with the Close Contact over the All Purpose. For Dressage if you intend to compete you really want a dressage saddle and the tack is typically black, however I have seen at schooling shows and a local instructors Dressage camp show that some of her students do their test in AP saddles. Also if you only want to cross train or have "fun" learning some dressage movements you can do so in any saddle, a halfpass is still a halfpass whether you are riding in a dressage saddle or AP saddle or western saddle.

Out of all the wintec saddles I would suggest the Wintec 500 Close Contact, it is a nice color of brown and looks more like leather than most wintecs.

the jump saddles don't come in my size im afraid. And I will be teaching my horse english basics, so I will really need a deeper seat for flatwork I think. Im about 75% there on just buying the saddle for daily use/ learning. So color doesnt matter. Again. If I want to show later I can get a used close contact/jump saddle. But I wont make my final decision until I get to talk to somebody at the store probably. Lol. Thanks for any advice. Guys. Im still really unsure what im going to do. I guess when I get there I will have to make up my mind. :p

Ok. So I went ahead and got black. I don't think I will take it to shows anyways. Got cair because that's what they had in store, and they assured me thati could return it and get the flocked one if I didnt like it. :)
