    Talking Updates about YOU guys!!

    Okay so I've been MIA, my friend was here from Canada visiting two weeks ago, and we had a volunteer weekend at the barn (we're also a non profit rescue unrelated to the boarding/lesson part of the barn) and redid tons of fencing, (almost 2,000 feet!) and did mud removal, and all sorts of other stuff, put up run ins, etc. etc. Then my friend was here visiting from Reno, and my other friend from Philly when Opal had her baby Max!!! And I just took my friend from Reno back to the airport this morning and just finally getting a chance to get online and catch up. Of course then I started two new threads about me.....so now it's time to hear about YOU! How are you guys? What's new? What did I miss? I can't believe that charging jumps thread is still in there in the Jumping group haha. Anything else interesting going on? I'm going to read and catch up on threads more this evening as well!!!

    Off to check Max and teach a lesson and longe one of my horses, and then back in here to check on all your updates to post away!

    Ack where do you live that you're getting so much rain? We got pounded here too and thank goodness we did all the excavating b/c at least the fields are draining much faster than they used to. Hope Ariel is okay and halter braking is always fun! My 5 day old today decided that he didn't want to pick up his feet and that if he was asked to, it was better done in his opinion while upside down....I disagreed LOL! Ahhh halter breaking and baby handling haha!

    Hey CJ8Sky, I've been wondering where you've been. I noticed your absense, glad you are back!

    Well, I was getting Nelson back into Eventing Condition for a couple of weeks we were doing well, until he choked this past weekend. It was around 7:00ish when my MIL called about him showing weird signs and when I got out there it was sure enough - that he was choking.

    My vet came out and spend 2 1/2 hours just trying to get the tube into him, let along trying to get the blockage out -she was unsuccessful, where we had to rush him to a specialist on Sunday.

    So now he's on the mend. On Ticoprim and Bute - but on a full recovery and getting back to his normal self slowly, but surely.

    He may have a breathing problem now though. So I'll have to get him back to the Specialist we took him to, to have them re-scope him and give him a checkup. He now has accumulated a nasty cough - so we'll see where that leads.

    Moving Nelson to a new fascillity on the 1st of June - looking forward to that - seeing how he recoups that is.

    I've had to scratch 3 HT's in June, because there is no way I am putting Boo through that since we are out of shape, and I don't know where his prognosis is going to end up.

    ~~~
    I got my Green Card on my Birthday - April 17th. So that was a great B-day Present. And Hubby took me to Chicago for a weekend vacation.
    That was allot of fun! It was great to see the city and all the tourist places - since the only time I've been to Chicago was when I got to see a lovely fascillity where I got to Audit GM's clinics.
    Aside from that, not much else.
    Congrats on the Green Card and so sorry about Nelson. Glad to hear he's recovering okay and hope he continues to heal well.
    Today was an insane day with baby Max....it was the day he decided to throw a temper tantrum and kick and rear and flip himself. So he got sat on by me til he decided to stop kicking, which somehow he managed with me ON him to get his butt end up over his head and almost get up! Nice, right? So then, we sat some more. And some more. And he kept kicking me. And we sat more. And longer. And FINALLY after almost 30 min he decided that sucked, and sat still, and we got up and completed the walk with mom back to the stall....and then tried to double barrel me so then we played the tap the baby on the butt with a dressage whip game. I won (read: he eventually learned that the tapping was harmless as long as he didn't kick, and that kicking = a whap with the whip). Then he was all snuggles and love and tried rearing (the I love you and want to play rear - not the I don't wanna do that rear lol) and I yelled NO and put my hand up and he stopped IMMEDIATELY and stood. YAY! CHEERS!
    *sigh* and now my knee hurts and I'm flat out exhausted. Baby boys are TIRING! All of you mothers with human baby boys - GOD BLESS! :)
    Keep all the updates coming guys! I love hearing it!
    Hey CJ82Sky, welcome back!
    Things have been very busy for me as well. My friend is getting married next month and as a bridesmaid I've been helping plan her bridal shower. The weather has been really great and the outdoor arena is dry and lovely! I rode Jubilee yesterday and it went well. She's been amazing lately! I'm debating on whether I should show her this summer. She needs more muscle building after being basically off all winter. If I do show, it will be just something small, for the experience (since I've never shown before).
    Anyhoo, good luck with your horsie!
