I think its safe to say that I am a pro at falling ... I have had some good ones ... I think one of the worst was when I put spurs on my horse for the first time ... o lord he bucked like I have never seen him do before ... but at least I got my 8 seconds in lol ... but who can forget the time my other horse jumped and threw me up onto the horn and then I just kinda slid off because I was in so much pain ... and then there is always my Tennessee Walker who is probably the most ditzy horse I have ever known ... he almost fell down a ledge on a trail ride so I bailed ... in doing so however I tore my ACL and miniscus in my knee lol ... surgery pending ... but yeah I don't think there is honestly a good way to fall ... but if you think for a minute that you might fall do it sooner rather than later so the situation doesnt get any worse than it started out

ok lol!! That sounds better. It does make sence that well every fall is different so then you have to plan according to the fall. Well Im not the falling pro here. This was the fifth time I have fallen.

I am very glad you were not hurt any worse than you were .I def have had my share of bad falls as well and have mastered the emergency dismount. I also teach it to anyone who rides any of my horses ( with experience or not) It's just a good thing to know and I have used it many times .

Wink

well I don't really plan on falling anymore(although I know I will just happen knowing my luck!!) but I have tried to use the dismount techniques and they are pretty cool. Well cool to me, I guess!!

last time I fell off a running horse, my top thought was "dont land on my head" and "get feet out of stirrups"

Make sure you push away from the horse so you don't get trampled if you can

Glad you hear you aren't hurt!

..ive never broken anything so that's kind of scary =P
