I do a lot of flatwork, & jumping. :) I do use variety & do different things- don't want the horse getting bored.
But usually, I warm-up by trotting, doing circles, reversing, etc. I do some non-stirrup work as well from time to time, gets those leg muscles in good shape! :) I also work on transitions, from walk to canter, from canter to walk, halting, etc. Jumping, I do groundpoles, crossrails, & I jump about 3ft currently. Sometimes I take a trailride if it's nice out. Like tonight I may go on a trailride since the weather is just awesome!
I cool down by walking a few times in the arena (if we are doing arena work). I take lessons once a week.

I don't ride in the arena that much, and I am an Eventer.

I also believe far too many jump, far too often. A horse only has so much jump in them, so why waste it? GP jumpers only jump once a week, or even the day of the comp in the warmup ring.

I don't understand why people jump everyday or more than once a week.

Anyways - I do allot of hacking. ALLOT. I ride about 1 hour a day, to 2. Lots of walk intervals into trot and back to walk. Then Trot into canter and back to trot back to walk. Lots of hill work.

I do mostly hacking 4/5 days a week.

Arena work, once a week, to twice. Depending on my mood. We do lots of exercises from the book "101 Dressage Exercises For Horse And Rider" when at home. And lessons once a week, we do 1/2 hour of flat work and 1/2 hour of jump work.

Again, mostly hacking. Lots of it. It builds muscle, topline, heart condition, lung condition, encourages a very happy horse.

I have a jumping lesson once a week. I agree with MIEventer, which is why I choose not to let my trainer use my horse in other lessons. I save her jumps for me.

When I go to the barn to ride without a lesson I warm up by walking in both directions. Then I go to a slow trot and build into a nice working trot in both directions. I do figure 8's, serpentines, circles, etc. Depending on how I feel I'll drop my stirrups for a round or work in 2-point. Then I do some cantering. I also work on transitions, lead changes, etc. I try to switch it up from day to day. Some days I'll have one thing that I want to focus on and when we have done that well we quit. It's always good to end on a positive note.

Jumping more then once a week can be bad for joints in the long run.

If you are jumping huge jumps all week, yes. But to practice lower level fences more than once a week won't trash your horse.

My mare needs alot of variety, so my schedule is constantly changing to what is appropriate for her. I can't say I do the same thing every day/week, because as she is changing and evolving so is my ride. We do some arena work, some out in our jump field, lots of trail riding, and alot of long lining. We don't jump in the winter, this Sunday is our first day to see how out of shape we all have become. lol
But we too jump once a week, sometimes twice.

I have no regular routine. It all depends on the individual horse at that individual day. Whatever the horse needs to be worked on that specific time, it changes constantly ;)
