Android App

Hey guys

My friend posted this up on facebook and although this is for Android, pretty sure there would also be something out there for Iphones as well.

It's an eventing app designed to make mapping cross country courses easier using GPS technology. Apparently you shouldn't have to measure your course anymore so you can just concentrate on walking it and the app does it all for you, working out minute markers from the optimum time you enter.

I haven't used this, I just thought that it would be worth sharing. It has good reviews and 4.5/5 stars, so they must be doing something right!

that sounds REALLY cool! *wishing I had an android* are you going to try it? It says that it was designed by eventers, so I hope they use them! SUPER COOL! Thanks for sharing

I'm debating if it's worth paying that much for it. I really only do one event and maybe a hunter trial each year, and it's both the same course.
I'm moving my horse soon so I'll be riding with my eventing friends more so I might end up doing more this year than I usually do.
I've passed it on to my friends and they're really excited to try it as soon as the season starts again. I'll probably give it a go though.
It does seem like a very promising app, especially since eventers specifically have designed it.

If it's the same app that I'm thinking of, then it also includes photos that people take and submit of each of the jumps in that particular course, so it's neat to see that as well!

I just switched from a Droid to an Iphone though, I had completely forgotten about this and need to find an Iphone version!

Here's a website link to the one I was thinking of!

Yes! That is the same app. Shame you just switched though :( I can't see them having an app only for a droid and not the iphone as well.

Yeah I just check out the website, although there don't seem to be that many listed...I think it's kind of new so it'll grow but until then, I don't really want to pay that much for it either!!

It's pretty nice. I didn't get it previously because I know someone that did and had major issues with the GPS feature that tracks you walking the course. She would stand still and it would still be moving all over the place. I don't know what patches and updates they've done since then, however.

Hm, I think that if I used it i'd measure with the wheel and then again with the gps tracker and see how acurate it is in that case.
I know that when I use google maps navigation on my phone the little arrow goes all over the place.
