I would guess from the size of the jumps and the apparent pace, that it is the equivalent of our intermediate. I may be wrong.

This video shows why I believe that high level event horses are the fittest equine athletes out there. Other disciplines have action, but not as fast...for as long....over such efforts.....only to do more the very next day.

In the old format, endurance day was usually over 20 miles. No other discipline that I know of, is quite as demanding.

I really don't think that we need to go down that road again.

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/

Yes thank you. I don't think every time eventing is brought up there needs to be an attempt to prove how you apparently think your sport is superior and feel the need to attack every other disclipline it just makes everyone else angry and think much less of you.

I'm sorry I am giving this impression. I don't mean to. I think EVERY discipline has greatness. I am absolutely enthralled when I watch a good cutting horse work. I get a thrill watching a good barrel run. A beautiful, consistent balanced hunter jumping round is a thing to aspire to.

I love, and have participated in, many different styles of riding and find merit in what makes all of them great.

In eventing, what makes this discipline great is the spectrum of ability it encompasses AND the level of fitness it demands. That's all. It is NO BETTER that any other discipline. But as other disciplines should be admired for their merit, so should eventing.

LOL! It is not uncommon for people to go off course.

When you go to an event, you walk the course over and over and over......You have to take some comfortable walking shoes with you.

If you guys have nothing to contribute to the sport of Eventing, and have nothing to add about the video posted - then don't say anything at all.

Allison, say whatever you want about the sport you have such passion for in this section.
