I took Excel cross country schooling a few times last week, and yesterday we had our Pony Club rating (we passed! Now officially D3s :)). We trailered with my friend whose daughter is in our Pony Club, so her husband got a few pictures of us. Enjoy!

Schooling 5/25. We jumped a few Novice jumps, but didn't get any pictures of them:

are you using a five point collar? I am looking at new breast collars.... mainly because i could swear that my 3 point makes him uncomfortable. Do you like yours?!! (great pics, by the way. You both are sooooo brave!!!)

Thanks! Oxer, it's actually just a typical breastplate. It's an Ovation, bought it used from someone on Craigslist.

It did seem like a bigger step in what they asked for, but the rater was pretty understanding. He couldn't pick up his right lead, so in warmup I was explaining in-depth some of the warmup exercises I was doing to get him to flex and get his weight off of his inside shoulder to free it up for the right-lead canter. She said that once I can work with him on that canter, we will actually be above D3 standards, so that was nice to hear. In the jumping portion he got them every time, silly boy

Sounds like a good Rater. We try to work with the members when they have a green horse, too. If you know what you're doing wrong and how to fix it, etc, we generally will let it slide. You can usually tell a rider that's ready to move up. Have fun! Good luck at your rallies!

Looks like lots of fun! I was hoping to start very low level this year, but.... :)
Very cute horse, and looks very willing too.

No arguing on my side! :D I just can't ride at the moment (therefore my comment), but as long as I start again I definitely will give it a try. We are lucky to have 2 free smaller jumping XC courses rather close (both in local parks).
