Well, Willie had a vet appointment today to really finalize where he's at and what he can do since I've been planning on selling him.
Unfortunately jumping is pretty much completely out of the question for him. While he's been going sound, it's more dumb luck or the fact that he has a high pain tolerance that he's not limping around on three legs. He's got chronic desmitis (inflammation of the ligaments, namely his suspensory) in both hind fetlocks, but more pronounced in his right hind. All four branches of the suspensory are inflamed and may possible still have tears in them. It's not something that can really be recovered from at this point. Mogie and I were so hoping that he had just developed some arthritis and that's why he was still a little filled behind, but alas that is just not the case.
Hopefully we'll be able to find someone who just wants a horse to do some flatwork on and hack around on. On a good day he can hop over a few small jumps, said the vet. It's frustrating because I feel like I've spent so much time trying to piece everything back together for him, and because we just did a little schooling show this past Tuesday at the BN level and got 2nd with a 32.5, however I know he'll be happy, fat, and sassy if I can find the right sort of home for him. I've already started talking to people and there's someone that might actually already have a potential home for him. We'll just have to see where things lead us, and hopefully I can find him somewhere to be happy before the end of the month.
