Event rider Amy Tryon has passed away

The eventing world has lost a friend and wonderful competitor. Amy was taking a nap and passed away in her sleep. There have been no announced cause of death at this point. Hugs for her husband and the horses she left behind.

Rest in Peace Amy!

That's sad. My heart goes out to her family.

How ironic. Ride one of the most dangerous sports imagineable and die taking a nap. Very sad.

You just have to see your distance...you don't have to like it.

She is from my area. She was a firefighter in Duvall, and trained eventing in her spare time. Her horse Poggio II , was a thoroughbred who was not meant for the track, but spent some of his young formative years as a mountain trail horse. She bought this Olympic level jumper for backyard horse prices . I watched her jump him once in a demonstration jumping benefit she did. She was gutsy.
