Eventers Unite: The Official Introduction Thread

In response to this wonderful new sub forum, I think that the eventers should all properly introduce themselves.

Hi, my name is Jules.
I discovered eventing a little over a year ago.
My first horse and I did recognized BN, and we did several novice pipeopeners, (cross country "competitions") because it's hard to make a foxhunter do dressage. We always bombed that portion at BN, so I figured it wasn't worth registering with usea and spending all the money for a 50 on my dressage test.
My green bean is on her way to becoming a fabulous event horse, and we've been doing lots of grid work and dressage since I bought her in February.
Her first time out cross country was at a starter horse trial. =)
Representing area II!

Gracie. Lena.

Hi my name is Mel,
I have competed through training level and once upon a time schooled some prelim. I have went through a horseless period for a couple of years and just inherited a mare that has done nothing but trail riding, I am in the process of starting her in dressage and over fences and hope to be doing some beginner novice on her next year!!

Hey I'm Madeline, I've been eventing pretty much since I started riding. Nothing high (yet) but I'm going to get there. Dressage is my achilles heel, so working hard on it :S.

EDIT: I made it to over 100 posts! xD

Hi Eventing team!! Well, I just started riding 3 1/2 years ago, and I got my first horse Sandie about 10 months ago. Sandie and I just started learning to jump together 4 months ago, so we're very new to Eventing...first Mini Trial was earlier this summer, and we've done a total of 6 now (our last one is this weekend!)

We're competing at the Intro level since we're just starting out, for safety reasons And hoping to compete at the next level up, Very Green, at the Mini Trial series next summer, if we feel like we're ready for the 2'-2'3" cross country fences instead of the 6"-12" fences we're jumping now!

My name is Drew!

My horse's names are on my siggy line :) With Ginisee, I competed Novice and schooled training (and some smaller Prelim stuff) successfully. She bowed her tendon in 2005, right after we qualified for the American Eventing Championships and the Area IV Championships. After that, I took a 3 year break from hard-core eventing (did some catch rides at mini trials) until my warmblood mare Uma was ready for the show scene. We worked hard with my amazing trainer all summer last year and did our first BN horse trial. Jumped clean XC and stadium! Then she got injured( pulled stifle) and is now coming back from that pretty well. Then I got my new girl, Demi about two months ago. we have our first mini trial at BN in two days!

I'm Lauren :]

I haven't done any open events, but have done a ton of PC ODE's. My little arab was an awesome evnting horse, and we normally ribboned in every event. I then bought a 16h ASH who I taught to jump. I had him at a Sam Lyle eventing school and he said he had the potential to go 1* within a year with consistent work. *Shock* However, my interests started to change and I wasn't a skilled enough jumper to take him everywhere he could go, so I decided to sell him. I miss that horse, you could point him at anything and if he couldn't get over, he would try and go through. Absolute bravest horse I have ever ridden, and he just lived for jumping. He is now with a young girl who we are friends with and they are steadily moving up the grades :]

So now I focus more on ASH stuff, but I do enter PC ODE's. I like to have well-rounded horses who can do everything :]

Everytime I jump though, I just miss Vodka so much! He was a once-in-a-lifetime horse, and just made to jump. I hope him and his new owner go far :]

Hey guys :)

I'm Sarah,
I've just started Eventing on my Riley my showjumper, we competed in 2 unofficial events for 2 4th places, and 12th at our first official finishing on our dressage score (which coincidentally is horrible, hence our 12th!)

Riley is really honest, loves to jump and just motors on the cross country course. We've got a hunter trial next weekend (jumping and x country) so hopefully we do well there

Thinks her father has realised she will never outgrow horses for boys

Hi! I am a greenhorn with eventing but I just started leasing Noni, a Friesian Sporthorse gelding and we are working on our dressage and jumping a lot and we should be on the show scene by next season! Just starting with the lower levels but we all know he has what it will take to KILL in the dressage arena and hopefully will be just as good with his jumping...I am very very excited to see what the fall/winter training will bring and hope that he 'blossoms' by next spring XD

He's just the horse to get us there

hi everybody. I used to compete with my boy Swoop he's a jumper dressage horse and just recently got one of my fav boys back named Petey, he was a horse given to my trainer. He was a prelim, or whatever the highest there is in eventing i always forget, event when he was 6 and has been doing hunter jumper shows for the last 3yrs with my trainers college kids. just got him back about a month ago and hopefully will get to start eventing him this year or next!
