No problem, I have been in a similar situation. When I first started competing and soon realized that I had a lot to work on and felt out of my depths. Because suddenly my horse that was nice and quite at home or when training at home was a complete crazy mess at shows. Refusing or leaping over fences and rushing. Part of this was due to -me- being nervous and excited and sending him these messages and then there was the fact that this was new to him as well and he needed to go slow to learn and understand things.

But there was also the fact that all the other riders had fancy show horses and knew what they were doing, where as I was on a loopy nutcase. But I then figured out that all these riders started somewhere, my coach who places at every event, has an amazing and is a very knowledgeable rider started by jumping small jumps and was "the new kid" too at one stage.

C'mon, what do you say Ray? *wink wink nudge nudge*

Chinga, part of the reason may be that I'm going to be moving and losing my coach. I have a new horse and person to ride with on board but my current coach is just amazing. I've never learned as much before and I suspect there is some sort of anxiety over the change too.

Who woulda thought my insecurities would get me the ladies :P

Tomorrow I have a lesson, and I think I'm going to go over everything I talked about on here with her. Really work on that two point position and trying to be a little more slouchy plus adding in the jumps like Spyder mentioned. I wish I had someone to come some video, but maybe it's good that I don't. I'll just focus on being calm and confident over the jumps and getting a good ride out of my horse on the flat so I can carry that over the speedbumps.
