Finally jumping Willie a bit!

I haven't been around much, but classes have resumed and I've been out with Willie a lot. Mid-July I introduced him back into jumping, just little stuff around 18", and he was an absolute dream! Super consistent and it honestly felt like he's been jumping all along the past two years! So almost 2 weeks ago (I think?) I bumped up jumps to 2'0" with one jump at 2'3" and one (just for kicks, he only got to jump it a few times) at 3'0". It all just felt like speed bumps. He didn't look at anything and all the distances were pretty much spot on. I'm super proud of him. Within the next few weeks I'll probably be looking for someone to half-lease him, to make everything more affordable for me and so that he's getting the attention he needs now that I won't be able to go out as often. :) Here's a video of his most recent jumping (the 2'0", 1 2'3" and 1 3'0").

Edit: The jump in the middle of the arena (red and white striped pole) is the 3'0". I have Willie walk up to it so you can see that it's bigger than the rest.

He looks so good! It looks like he's been jumping regularly, not off for 2 years! And I am jealous of where you live/ board! Colorado is so pretty.... unlike ugly Arizona.

Lol thanks. It's gorgeous, but really good trainers seem to be thin on the ground up in Northern Colorado where I'm at.

He's very handsom. Looks like he enjoyed himself.

Wow, nice job bringing him along. Just make sure you find a suitable half leaser so you don't undo his training.

You just have to see your distance...you don't have to like it.

@MIEventer - Thanks. He really does love to jump.

@MyBoyPuck - Yeah. I'll mostly just need to find someone that isn't afraid of him. XD He has a tendency to be a bully if he's allowed to get away with things. I'm not so worried about the riding level of said future leaser, mostly because Willie is a great teacher. Plus the trainer I've been talking to is good, so I would trust her not to let someone put him to ruin or anything. And I'll still be riding him once or twice a week most likely.
