Congrats on your first ride. I really like your attitude towards your first show, it will go a long way. Be really proud of yourself that's a huge accomplishment. You guys looked absolutely fantastic! What a great pony, such a big heart!
Looking forwards to hearing more about your riding endeavors.

OMG thanks so much guys! I feel so complimented! Fiona is absolutely awesome, she tries really hard she just gets anxious, but when everything falls into place she's absolutely amazing!

I'm in the process of buying Fi and moving trainers as the one I'm with now I'm having some disagreements with. But I can't move until I buy her as even though I full lease her she's owned by my current trainer, just trying to get the parents on board with the buying.

If you have any suggestions on trainers that dabble in CT, Eventing and Jumpers (C rated and some As) then I'd love to hear them! I can only find people who do just Jumpers or just Eventing. I'd have to either board at their place or they'd have to travel, as I don't have a trailer.

At least your horse didn't trot on the spot! In my dressage tests with my old lease horse I always got (without fail) "nice try on a tense horse''. Every. Time. Even after 6 months of lessons haha. He was lazy in lessons, but tense and crazy at events. I even rode him on the grounds 2 days before the events!

Her dressage didnt look that bad. Once a horse slows down and relaxes they listen alot better. My first CT show was at my barn, so it was pretty easy to get adjusted (that and I was the only competitior in the division lol.) Do you ride your horse off the property at all? My strategy is to take my horse to as many places as I can, and walk him in-hand around for a half hour everywere (in your case ride). Seeing as its not yet your horse you'll have to get the trainer to take you. Some barns allow you to pay a ring fee in exchange for arena/facility use for the day.

Oh she goes places all the time, she's been going out practically every weekend for the past year, but she'd never been to that particular place and she is ALWAYS nervous the first time she's at a place and mostly nervous whenever she leaves home. Its a lot her personality, but she's gotten a lot braver recently. This time last year instead of jigging instead of walking she was doing tempi changes xD Her main issue is settling down at a walk because her mind is buzzing so much. At a trot and canter she has a handle on it but at a walk, especially a free walk, she gets very distracted.

She's just a grade welsh cross, we think with a quarter horse? 2 1/2 years ago when she was like 3 1/2 and she first came to my barn she had the narrowest chest, thinnest neck and giant quarter horse esque head. She was definitely a late bloomer, and she needs a lot of neck muscle to fit her head xD But I love her anyway.
