Haha, I know how you feel about dropping out of school. BUT DON'T DO IT. Stay in high school and at least finish that.

I want to drop out of college so bad right now.. and its so eassyyyy. but I have to at least try to stay with it. especially since I know horses will never be my career. (Its just not feasible for my life style)

But highschool.. or whatever you call it in the UK.. is important. You've got to have a basic education in life. No matter what you do.

ANNNYYYWAYYYYY. are there any horse forums that are based out of the UK? You might want to try asking there as well...

I think "the new rider forum" is european...

You see riders in eventing (even at the high levels) with ages ranging from 20 - 50.

It will take time to learn to ride, but I don't think you have to start when you are five, or very young at all.

If you get a good schoolmaster and a good instructor I think you will surprised with how quick you pick up riding, especially if you ride daily. I wouldn't recommend starting at 35 to become an eventer, but I can't see why someone entering at 25 or something couldn't have a shot. You have to work it though.

I think a lot depends on the individual, on circumstance and opportunities around them.

DON'T DROP OUT OF SCHOOL! Even if you make it, you will have to run your own barn and buisness and a high school education is key to that! If you don't you want to be able to get a good job right? I have like a bunch of fall back carrers that I would do if I don't make it as a rider.
