Jim Graham/David Adamo Clinic/Schooling XC/Epic Fall

So last weekend, I got the chance to train under Jim Graham (international eventer who went to the WEG and Olympics, now he's a coach and horse trainer, along with being an international dressage judge and selector for the Olympic Team) and David Adamo (long listed rider for the 2012 Olympics). Really, I'm not going to try to explain what they said because they say it better than I can explain! I really encourage everyone to watch the videos all the way through, because what these guys have to say is really great stuff! I apologize for the ugly wind noises...

That certainly seemed like a beneficial clinic. I liked the turn on the haunches exercise to establish the outside rein. Gotta try that one. I was happy to hear his idea of how to use different seats during the XC phase. So many instructors say to just get into 2 point and go along for the ride. While the audio was cutting out a bit, it did seem like he said to use the full seat to rebalance your horse a few times during the course. You look like you got a lot from it. You sure worked hard enough! Thanks for posting.

You just have to see your distance...you don't have to like it.

It was more a light brushing seat unless he wanted us to really balance the horse, then we would use a full seat. I love his way of changing of balance too, the changing the seats instead of just hanging out in galloping position like so many people do. It was seriously the best instruction I've ever had. I LOVE those two. I got so much out of it, I've seen my riding improve already!

Looks like it was a great clinic! I ride hunters and got something just out of watching the jumping videos. Thank you for posting!
