Thumbs up Mark Todd at the Saumur Helmet Cam..

I got a rush just watching this, wanted him to tip his helmet higher so I could see the upcoming jumps better! What an awesome course to ride ... so jealous!

The Horse and Hound has published a helmet cam video of Mark Todd at the Saumur CCI2*, held in France two weekends ago. Mark was riding Hezabrook and they finished 34th

I love the helmet cam!

Is this a typical sort of eventing run? (I haven't ever done it) Are some of the jumps optional? It looked like other horses had laid tracks around some of them, but it was hard to see via the helmet cam...

Each level will have different size jumps.

I doubt any of the jumps would be optional. Some jumps will have different route options though....easier, but takes more time, or harder but more technical.
